Day 1: Lake Manyara and Tarangire National Park
After a morning breakfast, you’ll take a town trip for some purchases, then go on your wildlife adventure and cultural tour. Babati district is located along Arusha to Dodoma Road. In Babati, you will come across Barbaig (Mang’ati) ethnic tribe, who still practice hunting and gathering lifestyles.
In the afternoon, you will take a break around the Hanang area, viewing the diversity of landscapes around the place; after lunch, you’ll visit the Man’gati village to get some historical, social, environmental, and political lifestyle of the Man’gati people.
Day 2: Bargaig (Man'gati) Experience
After an early morning breakfast, together with a local guide, you will pass through the undisturbed, diverse, and untouched landscapes of Hanang, giving a perfect view of the different geological and geographical areas of Tanzania.
Experience the pleasure of a morning walk in Hanang, where you can observe various biodiversity habitats. Later, after lunch and a short rest, your local guide from Man’gati will lead you on a trek through the area while sharing cultural and historical information. You will spend the evening and rest overnight at a camp, lodge, or hotel.
Day 3: Visit Mto wa Mbu
After breakfast, you’ll take a quick town trip for some purchases you need during your Safari. You will reach Mto wa Mbu and experience the place’s cultural lifestyle and be part of daily activities around the place.
After lunch, you will continue your Safari to the magnificent Lake Eyasi for your evening walk and spend overnight at a camp/lodge, hotel, or similar accommodation.
Day 4: Lake Eyasi – Preserving the unique culture
After your morning breakfast, you will enjoy a historical and sociological intriguing knowledge of the Bushmen, geological and geographical area. As you move from one place to another on foot, searching and discovering different distinctive and diverse kinds from several places – your guide will make sure to deliver the most lifetime experience from nature.
You will enjoy lunch around the bush with bushmen and your local guide. After lunch, you will explore the Northern side of the Lake Eyasi area, where the bushmen will share a story and experience about their lifestyle and history. You will spend your evening overnight at a camp/lodge, hotel, or similar accommodation.
Day 5: Visiting the Hadzabe villages
After morning breakfast, a local guide will take you through diverse bushmen villages with different leaders and authorities. These villages show the distinction between authority and clan in the bushmen tribe – although the towns are always communally owned by all members.
After lunch and break, we will spend quality time with the Hadzabe communities that still live a traditional hunting and gathering lifestyle. They live far from the typical tourist route deep inside the bush and are, therefore, very challenging to reach by car.
You will spend an evening and overnight at a camp/lodge or hotel.
Day 6: Hunting Trip
After breakfast, you will be guided for an exciting hunting lesson with the bushmen before going to the bush for the hunting adventure. Your day will be spent gaining skills in hunting lessons, slaughtering, and preparing for wildfires like bushmen. The day could also involve adventure wildlife walking and tracking of wild game.
Day 7: Hunting Trip
After morning breakfast, you will be accompanied by your local guides for a full day hunting wildlife. You will join them on hunting and honey-gathering trips. The day could also involve walking and tracking wild game. While one might think meat is a crucial part of their daily meal, the Hadzabe tribe, most of them, are primarily vegetarians, and the shared meals are based around honey and various fruits.
You will do your best with help from a local guide to hunt a game to enjoy a bush braai meat/ barbecue, and some will be taken back to the village to be enjoyed with the rest of the town.
Day 8: Hadzabe Women
After breakfast, you will join the Hadzabe women as they search for roots, tubers, and berries. This is a great day learning about plants and their various human uses. In addition, this is the most exciting cultural experience of the Safari because you will get to immerse in the knowledge between the interaction of humans and biodiversity.
You will gain more knowledge than you ever expect, and if you’re a fan of plants and their use, this is the day you will experience the best of it from humble yet very dedicated Hadzable women.
Day 9: Visit Around the Rift Valley Escarpment
After morning breakfast, you will say goodbye to the Hadzabe community while driving on through the lowlands at the head of the large soda lake to reach the bottom of the rift ridge that leads the way up to the cliff onto the edge of the famous Serengeti Savannah Plains.
Day 10: Arusha
After breakfast, we’ll drive through the Ngorongoro Highlands towards Karatu district, then make our way to Mto wa Mbu for a lunch break, and then back to Arusha. You will enjoy your relaxed sunset at either Lake Duluti or Oldonyo Sambu. Your evening and overnight stay will be at the lodge/ hotel.
